The other day, while on a multi-property home tour with my buyers, we stopped by one that was in the midst of an open house. No problem, we can wait our turn we said, while one of the 3 assistants to the listing agent took our temperatures.. yes, 3 lovely ladies were helping out and making this open house appear (much) busier than it actually was. It was a bit of an oddity in rural Frederick County, but hey, different is good and I am all for doing things differently.
When we finally got our turn to look at the house (since the people inside were limited, having 4 people there just representing the seller made the wait time a bit longer), we really liked what we saw. It was a cute house, obviously well cared for and staged beautifully!
I complimented the staging and asked who this team collaborates with, instead of a name, however, I was told "it's a secret! I can't disclose this to you." Hm.

Home stagers do not all provide the same level of service, nor do they all deliver a well-staged home. I've seen half-empty paint cans used for propping up beds (on newly finished hardwood floors), damaged walls, furniture that has seen better days, and poorly designed rooms.
This is not the kind of staging we recommend, nor will it get a home sold.
