Friday Thoughts and Words: A Quintessential Santa Barbara Scene!

Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

Pictured above is the stair case that goes to the various levels of the newest public parking building in the Funk Zone of Santa Barbara.  Yes, there is an elevator for those that are handicapped, however, we prefer the stairs.

The public lots around town always have landscaping of some kind depending on their location.  In this instance, these big pots of bougainvillea are it.  One of the lots we often use has specimen trees.  It has several cork trees, the kind that corks used in bottling.

Both of us love words, and that is why I titled the post quintessential.  The right word can convey the emotions of a moment, better than a similar word that almost says it perfectly. If you walk up stairs in our city's parking lot you will see different tile work.  Some are more colorful than others, but they are all interesting.

Quintessential is one of these words.  Merriam-Webster defines it as: Quintessential definition is - perfectly typical or representative of a particular kind of person or thing : being a quintessence.

Quintessence is what we strive for in creating a brand for an individual or company.  And when we get there, it is a thrilling moment for us and our clients.  It is a high that never grows old. For both of us, this photo represents one of the many aspects of Santa Barbara County.

We have lived here over 12 years, and are delighted every time a quintessential element appears.  It resonates with us and reminds us to appreciate every moment!

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel - I appreciate those quintessential elements of Santa Barbara. I may have said this before.  I booked a special vacation at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona and surprised my husband.  To make a long story short, he was disappointed that we were not going to Santa Barbara! Of course, the rest was history and now we have been in Sedona for 14 years.

As for Santa Barabar, there is a special charm that we both love about that city and area.  I also like the way you wrapped in how you create your branding elements for a client. Kudos!

Hi Ron and Alexandra -  I love the concept of that quintessential moment when it all comes together!  It is exhilarating!  Just this morning I was in a small tucked away neighborhood that had the look of Santa Barbara.....beautiful tiles, walkways, bright flowers...charming.  Much like your photo.  It looked so inviting!

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty This is our perfect spot.  We knew that when we lived in Los Angeles and were planning to make a move here.  Then, my mother was in Petaluma, and we chose Napa to be closer to her....and after she passed away, we headed to our perfect spot.  A

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® I do remember the story, and it is a good one, as this became your perfect spot to live in.  We talked about going to Sedona for a few days recently, just to get away within a radius that our airport flies to direct...Then we discovered that Alaska is flying to San Diego, so it looks like that will be our get away spot for a few days.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, CRB, Phoenix Broker I have seen places like that in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley that our client had listed.  They are wonderful, I would say that the light in you are has a different spectrum toward golden akin to the light in Provence, France.  Our light here is on the pink side of spectrum akin to Southern Italy and parts of Spain.  Both are special, and favorites of ours.

Santa Barbara has kept some of its Early California influence which showed up on this staircase.  I love it!

I have noticed a lot of beautiful landscaping in your photos. It's always enjoyable to see.

As for corks? I had no idea they came from trees. Very interesting.

Enjoy your day!

Hi Alexandra... no doubt that you live in an amazing part of the world... I totally understand why you love living where you do. While reading your post, it occurred to me that many people really have no idea what the meaning of the word quintessential even means.
