Difference of 'Night & Day'

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Sandpoint Realty LLC DB36113

Difference of 'Night & Day' is often thrown out as one of those over used quips.  In North Idaho it is meant quite literally when talking about the summer heat.

Sandpoint Realty LLC - Heat Wave

Many times a buyer from out of town will ask about air conditioning and is taken back when I explain not everyone feels the need for AC in the North Idaho Panhandle.  I then explain the difference between North Idaho and most other areas that experience the extreme heat.

We are not an asphalt jungle in North Idaho which helps with the ability for the night to cool drastically from the day time temps.  Some very simple household management keeps a home very pleasent.  Open the windows at night, fan optional, and close windows in the morning.  Closing drapes, and or blinds, during the day will also help keep the inside cooler.

Curious what other advantages North Idaho might have during the heat waves that often hit Nationwide during the summer?  Contact me.  I will be happy to discuss more ways to keep cool in North Idaho.   Pics are 8 hours apart with this mornings' pic, 58 degrees, actually following a much warmer day yesterday.  105 to 109 degrees along the North Idaho Panhandle.

we had to put our A/C on tonight not that it was warm... but all the fireworks were scarring the daylights out of our animal farm so windows closed A/C on even though it was 65 degrees outside...Endre

Good morning Mark - I guess we have gotten used to it but in a cooler night environment it is not necessary.

We're similar here, Mark. Night times are usually quite enjoyable, even when the afternoon was very hot. One of the things I love about Montana summers!

Good morning, Mark... your post reminded me of when I lived in San Francisco... nothing was air conditioned... not homes, not cars. Then I moved back to New York City and the first thing I had to retrofit into my car that first summer back was air conditioning!

Hello Mark - there are so many regional differences.  And when it comes to real estate, those differences and certain area nuances make having knowledgeable local representation even more important.

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint - I really appreciate what you have to say about your temperatures and the difference between "Night and Day." I'm one of those people who is curious about what type of weather people from other states have to cope with and enjoy.

Happy Independence Day!

Endre, I was born raised Southern California.  My last couple times down there had me in awe of the changes, completed and on going.  So I can appreciate the 'hood still Rumbling'.  I believe I have grown past wanting to deal with it.  Too many years in open areas.  Loved while I was there.  Mark
