If you like beach music or rock music mixed in with some Civil War historical surroundings, then you need to grab your favorite dance partner and your friends and come to Old Towne in Petersburg, Virginia.
Each Thursday since 1998, the after work concerts are held starting approximately around 6:30 pm and lasting until 11:45 pm. This series of concerts will continue this season until September 25, 2008. There are two bands scheduled each week. The early band playing beach or oldies music plays outside on the grounds of the Petersburg Civic Center amongst some beautiful landscaping. Later in the evening, the second band, usually a rock band plays inside. This venue opts for a diverse group of adults (you must be 18 to attend) to enjoy a good variety of music.
Starting your weekend out by visiting "Thursday At the Works" is a great place to enjoy great music, see friends, some you may not have seen in years, good food and drinks. The cost to attend is $8.00 per person. This expense isn't much when you get a night full of fun!
