What Would You Do Differently (If Anything?)

Recently one of the talking-head shows "threw out" a question that I thought was interesting...what would you do differently if a pandemic similar to CoVid 19 were to occur again?   (knock wood)

I gave it some thought and decided that I would do the same thing that I did in 2020.

I read and listened to information and made my own decisions.

That said what was reinforced was something we all have known since childhood...wash your hands, stay at home if you’re sick, wash your produce, cough into your elbow, and keep your distance from people who are sick.

With the many real or otherwise shortages around, though, a positive thing for me was that I found a way to use far fewer paper towels than I did before, probably ¼ as many.

What about you? If another pandemic were to occur, what if anything would you do differently?

Gwen Fowler-864-638-3599 SC Mountains Lakes Homes being grateful for what we have is always a good thing.

Sham Reddy CRS I agree. What we have is limited so I enjoy seeing how I can conserve our resources.

Brian England that was the problem...too many agendas involved. It would be nice if we could trust what is told to us.

Wayne Martin I wouldn't change anything either. And fortunately because we live in a pretty "free" state, I never felt like a prisoner.

Nina Hollander, Broker I felt the same way. After listing to the wee doctor and others it occurred to me that no one had the definitive answer. I listened and made my own decisions.

Ed Silva and that holds true for when you're around anyone who is sick.

Grant Schneider I did curbside service at our local grocery store a few times but decided I'd rather pick out my groceries myself.

Kat Palmiotti I'm not sure I want to know about cowboy toilet paper however since I'm in Texas, we must have something like it here.

@Bob "RealMan" Timm way to go!!!!

Roy Kelley that was an issue. Many were scared into not going outside to walk or exercise and canceled their needed medical appointments.

Rocky Dickerson Hey, I was in Chinatown in Houston celebrating Chinese New Year's in early 2020. But that said, I wouldn't change a thing.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, CRB, Phoenix Broker I have no desire to set foot in CA...ever. We saw our family and were out walking every day.

Myrl Jeffcoat I think Covid will be around and unfortunately, certain factions would prefer to keep us all divided.  Divide and conquer is their mantra.

George Souto ditto-we're on the same track.

Unfortunately I think the question is when instead of if we're going to have another pandemic. It really shows how unprepared our country is for this type of emergency. But what's  a poor realtor from Washington state supposed to do Kathy Streib

Morning Kathy.

I didn't read any other comments, but for me, not one darn thing.  We went on short road trips at least three times a week.

I'm sure we would do things about the same. In all fairness, it was a big learning curve for everybody, including the scientists and the politicians. I guess the most important thing we can do is pay attention, and instead of blaming, learn. I keep hoping people will retain the lessons we learned in 2020. What's really important in your life? For us, the people we love.

I don't think I would change anything about what we did. We took it very seriously right from the beginning and were extremely careful. Still are and will continue to be.

Hi Kathy:

I suspect we would do much the same as before, but perhaps with some more planning. Our whole family took it seriously and I don't see that changing.

I would move my mother out of assisted living and keep her with me where I could see her and she wouldn't be quarantined from those who were wiling to visit.

Hi Kathy,
I don't know that I'd do anything differently.  I did learn to utilize services that I'd never used before (like InstaCart and take-out delivery) so I like that. I am fortunate to have lots of storage in my house and I don't really like to shop so I've always been one to stock up on supplies. I love to get out and about but I'm pretty content at home when I need to be so that's a good thing.

Hello Kathy - while I certainly made adjustments with this most recent pandemic, there was not as much change as I might have expected because of certain life changes that I experienced prior to the announcement.
