Community and Real Estate Information

Glenwood is a neighborhood in Medford, Massachusetts that is centrally placed. West of I-93, south and west of Fellsway, north of Mystic River, and northwest of Wellington is the neighborhood. The mixed-use neighborhood has a strong business presence, which is concentrated towards the Wellington border. Throughout the town, there are several shopping malls, office buildings, condos, and other mid-rise structures. Glenwood's growth peaked, like that of most other parts of the city, during the turn of the century, as the region's desire for suburban homes expanded. Many of the suburban developments created at the time are still standing today, along with the many magnificent homes that line the suburb's many streets. Today, new commercial real estate has supplanted parts of the old suburban neighborhoods, contributing to the area's growing need for office and corporate space.

Glenwood's residential real estate is a mix of the city's characteristic Colonial Revival single-family homes. The majority of these structures date from the 1900s to the 1930s, and many have been restored and reused as multi-family residences. Condos, apartments, duplexes, and triplexes are good rental properties that certain purchasers may love. Houses in the neighborhood include floor plans ranging from two to four bedrooms for single-family homes, while larger apartment-style homes have up to nine bedrooms per household. These homes' floor plans typically vary from 1,200 to 4,200 square feet, with costs ranging from the mid $500,000s to $1.3 million. The exteriors of these homes have conventional open floor plans with an eat-in kitchen and dining area in the back and a living room upon entering. Different floor levels often divide duplex and triplex apartments, with a side-entry driveway that runs the length of the property serving as the principal car parking area.

The streets are wide, and many of the huge single-family homes and multi-family residences are meticulously maintained. It is really dog-friendly, and the parks are being renovated! You won't believe how quickly I-93 or Route 28 can be reached. Highways, Malden, “The Fells,” and local conveniences like the new tiny footprint Target are all easily accessible from Glenwood. Local restaurants such as Nappi's, Eddy's, and Douglas Bakery are essential must-visits in this area! It's difficult to find a more welcoming staff!
