Carlsbad Village Faire 2021 is July 25
Much has changed in our area since so many of the pandemic restrictions were lifted in California in mid-June.
Happily, for many, one of the area’s favorite arts and craft fairs returns to Carlsbad Village on Sunday July 25th.
The Carlsbad Village Faire is reportedly the largest outdoor 1-day fair in the US (other than its counterpart, the November Carlsbad Village Faire), and will take place from 8 am until 5 pm, so there is plenty of time to see everything and shop to your heart’s content. The Village Faire, not to be confused with the shopping center by the same name in the Village, is held in the heart of town, along Grand Avenue from Carlsbad Boulevard to Jefferson, and also spills over onto side streets including State Street over to Carlsbad Village Drive.
Signs are out warning everyone about this special event, since much of the parking along these streets will not be available due to all the vendor booths.
The Carlsbad Village Faire is impressive. While it sounds a bit cliché-ish, I think it’s fair to say there is something for everyone, with hundreds of vendors. And you are surrounded by numerous local Carlsbad Village retailers if you tire of the faire.
Expect a crowd of thousands to check out clothing, arts and crafts, gift items, home goods and accessories, collectibles, plants and garden items, antiques, products from around the world, and much more.
If you actually tire of all the Village Faire vendors you can explore all the restaurants and retailers in the Carlsbad Village area on the side streets, including the popular Village Faire Shopping Center just north of the railroad tracks.
And the Carlsbad beaches are just a couple of blocks away for a walk before or after the fair.
Parking will be very limited due to the crowds, with many spaces taken up by Carlsbad Village Faire vendors, so arrive early – the good news is parking is still free in Carlsbad.
And consider taking advantage of the free shuttles offered throughout the day as in the past at roughly 15-minute intervals – at the parking lot at the northwest corner of Sears at The Shoppes at Carlsbad (at the 78 and El Camino Real/Marron Road/Jefferson Avenue), and the Poinsettia Coaster Station on Avenida Encinas between Palomar Airport Road and Poinsettia.
