Good morning, Roy... no doubt that Gaithersburg comes up with some very creative and interesting workshops for its residents.

I have always thought that if I got into gardening I would definitely want to be able to harness rain water to use for the plants.

I just started using a "rain barrel" this year although I had one in the past but failed to use it. That being said I don't think it's rained 4 times this season. Are plants and flowers are looking great due to that captured rain water Roy Kelley

I wish I could have a rain barrel in my neighborhood, but the HOA says no.

Here on the west coast very few areas get that much rain. I wish we did, though. It would be great to use one.

When I was a kid, my parents and I spent a lot of time at a place on the coast.  There was an older woman there, who rented us a cottage on summer weekends.  She had rainbarrels that collected up rain, just like the one pictured.  She watered her garden that way.  I've often wondered why we didn't do that more.
