Thankful Thursdays...For the Health of My Family and Friends
As they say, when you have your health, you are blessed. That was never more evident than these past few days.
First of all, everyone is fine. Knock wood.
It began last weekend when my great-nephew, Jake, was kicked in the side of his face during Taekwando practice.
He was in such pain that both of his siblings (who are usually picking on each other) took turns sitting with him. While our first thought was the pain was from his teeth, it turns out he may have a hairline fracture in his jaw and have a slight concussion.
And then my very good friend had shooting pain just under her scalp (temporal arteritis) and spent the weekend in the hospital. She is doing well and we’ll know more in the next day or two.
Two final points…
- Even if you aren’t a medical professional, become familiar with the symptoms of concussion and what to do.
- Jake and his siblings made the most of his injury and got their dad to finally give in and get them the dog they’ve been begging for!
So today I am especially grateful that my nephew and friend are doing well.
