Throwback Thursday: In Appreciation of Porcelain Cups

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

This past Sunday, we stopped at Handlebar Coffee Roasters for a capuccino.  For the first time in 16 months, we did not have to stand in a long line and get our cappucinos in paper cups.

Instead we walked in, I sat at a table, while Ron ordered our cappuccinos.  These taste so much better in a porcelain cup and the owner agreed with us.

She even comped one the cups, in appreciation of our continued patronage.  It was so nice to sit and chat and watch the great Santa Barbara coffee scene.  Isn't amazing how little things make a huge difference?

"The little things? The little moments? They aren't little."

~ Jon Kabat-Zinn

"It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important."

~ Arthur Conan Doyle

"Little things are indeed little, but to be faithful in little things is a great thing."

~ Mother Teresa

Happy Thursday!

Hi Alexandra... I'm so with you on this. I hate drinking anything out of a paper product. And when it comes to coffee I feel it totally changes the taste. Then again, I totally admit to being a bit of a coffee snob... very fussy about my coffee and believe it should be its own food group. As they say, life is too short for bad coffee.

Oh Yes it so indeed is the little things in life that can brighten our days!  I miss porcelain cups!  There was a great place up in Flag that always served our coffees in cups....not paper. I wonder if they're still doing so.  Hope so!

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® In Italy, when you sit down for coffee or specialty drink, it is always brought in a tall glass for the drink...Of course, like in France and other European countries, one enjoys sitting around and watch people go by.  We are a hurried nation going somewhere, but getting nowhere at times.  A

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty we agree.  Our friend who lives in Los Angeles County noted that the law enforcement in charge made a statement on TV that they were not going to enforce the latest things LA came up with.  He said, we have more important matters.  We were in Los Angeles yesterday for a meeting, and very few masks appeared...A

Andrea,

Like you I would bring my own cup if needed.  This is a two store operation of a husband and wife who were professional cyclists in Europe (they are from Santa Barbara).  When they came home, they missed European coffee, and starter their stores. A

A - I would add that the barista did a wonderful job to brighten up the paper cup, too! (Also,  wine is better in a crystal glass versus plastic! )

It does enhance the experience, and also somehow tastes better. I think paper cups taste a bit like cardboard...not the I eat the cups, but you get the idea. Ha. Thanks for sharing, the cappuccinos look tasty.
