Braeswood, Houston, TX

Community and Real Estate Information

Braeswood is a mixed-use community in southwest Houston, Texas, close to the Old Braeswood district and the Texas Medical Center campus. The neighborhood is made up of 17 subdivisions with beautiful houses conveniently placed near one of the city's biggest business areas. Although this neighborhood was established in late 1940, it did not grow until the late 1940s. The Braeswood Place Homeowners Association was formed in 1951. Residents founded the Stella Link Redevelopment Association (SLRA) in the 1990s to help restore the area. Although most homes were upgraded in the early 2000s, several original ranch-style homes remain in the community, preserving the town's typical suburban appeal.

Because of the neighborhood's deed limitations, Braeswood Place is primarily made up of detached single-family houses. However, there are some townhouses and single-family homes thrown in for good measure. Ranch-style homes with 2,000 to 3,500 square feet of living space and lots ranging from 7,000 to over 20,000 square feet were built in the 1950s but were later replaced by newer, multi-story buildings with 4,500 to 6,000 square feet of living space and lots ranging from 7,000 to over 20,000 square feet. Braeswood Place homes range in price from $275,000 to $2,000,000, depending on the size and total value of the home. Traditional American or California ranch-style architecture may be found in the residences. Houses contain four to six bedrooms and two to seven baths on average. Braeswood Place townhouses range from 1,500 to 2,000 square feet and cost between $170,000 and $400,000. The area's broad assortment of residences appeals to a wide range of customers looking to relocate to this highly desired region.

Important Considerations

Braeswood is located in one of the city's busiest districts, so expect considerable traffic, especially during rush hour. The neighborhood's affordable houses are in high demand due to their good location, and they seldom remain on the market for long.
