Gaithersburg 2021-22 School Calendar

The first day of school for students in Montgomery County is Aug. 30.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. The MCPS Board of Education has said it's committed to having students in-person full time this upcoming year.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Good morning, Roy... our schools here are starting a good two weeks before yours. Always feels odd to me to have kids in school in August. I grew up all the way through college with school/classes beginning after Labor Day.

Good morning Roy. Sounds like "masks" are the holy grail. Not sure about that. Am sure I would not want to be a student wearing a mask all day. Enjoy your day.

I hope that all kids will have fun and learn as much as they can while they are at school.

Our schools will be starting the week before yours and many are protesting the kids wearing masks even though they didn't want them to be vaccinated
