Lessons Learned And Taught. . .

Sometimes the differences are truly transparent.  Lessons are learned and teaching moments are taught.  Sometimes these occurrences seem to exist simultaneously.

It is not so unusual to see examples where one plays the part of the pupil as well as the educator  during our life.  Those times are but a part of the bigger play on the stage of life.  So many factors come together.  Well-choreographed but extemporaneous too.    Is there a magic formula?  Yes, I wonder.  I believe that so much of the teaching or training process is a lesson in learning skills where the teacher/trainer grows.

I have learned that, although I am a good teacher, I am a much better student, and I was blessed to learn valuable lessons from my students on a daily basis.  They taught me the importance of teaching to a student - and not to a test.  Erin Gruwell

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - and thankfully those "aha" moments never end.

Rocky Dickerson - ah, grasshopper you are a teacher while not knowing it.  Each of us is observed on a regular basis doing whatever we do.  The teaching moments never stop nor do the lessons.  Shown and shared throughout the course of a day.   The examples are many - far too many to list.  And likely a list that may not be remembered - until it's just the right time.

Michael, to learn something new is amazing, and to teach gives so much more.   I have been a mentor to a few agents, not just Laura, and such a reward.

Joan Cox - each student, each learning experience and so many variables of each situation are about that "moment" - of course, we are going to learn and continue to learn.

Hi Michael- I do love this one!  It is the wise teacher who keeps their minds open to learn from all sources, even their students.

Morning Michael.

Every time I talk to a new agent I learn so much.  I pass my new knowledge on to the next one.  It's a never ending process.

Teacher or student...we play both roles...sometimes not even aware.

Learning the lessons is what matters.

Roy Kelley - it happened yesterday, and then today and I expect it will happen tomorrow.

James Dray - it builds, doesn't it?

Sharon Tara - I spend far too much time unaware.  Intentionally for a reason and unintentionally just because.  It's definitely a work in process "to be here and stay/keep aware".

Endre Barath, Jr. - I understand how that happens but as for cures those are truly individual.  And quite personal.  Kinda like a tailor-made suit.  Just in case there wasn't enough examples in this comment.

As a realtor working with mostly seniors, I've learned it's best to keep learning throughout every stage of life.  Both teaching and learning and giving keeps us young and healthy.

Michael, lessons should always be learned.   Had a "customer" yesterday, first time in 25 years.   Hard to NOT give advice.

Joan Cox - since you put the word "customer" in quotes, I'm assuming there's more to the story.  Perhaps a post???

The right Charlotte REALTOR!

Interesting thoughts, Michael! We have to do both in this business, don't we? We learn in CE classes and from work experiences. It's also imperative that we spend a considerable amount of time teaching those lessons we learned to our clients. I'm WAY better at teaching small groups than large ones though!

Debe Maxwell, CRS - in the course of a day, the "hats" definitely change.  Wouldn't Mary Richards from The Mary Tyler Moore Show have an interesting "take" on that subject?
