And Beyond. . .
If history repeats itself,
and the unexpected always happens
how incapable must Man be of learning from experience.
George Bernard Shaw
I am not sure when I first knew of this quote but
I did recall previously seeing it as it recently reappeared for me. Things happen for many reasons and for seemingly no reason at all.
Conversations and thoughts and everyday occurrences happen in much the same way. Posts too. Earlier this week I mentioned the randomness of it all so I guess this may be a bit of redundancy to some but for me I think of it as an ongoing and continuing conversation. Or maybe that's just my "spin" on the topic.
Throughout the course of a day, I may search that vast personal memory vault searching through the clutter and the cobwebs in hopes of connecting related and things that seem to be unrelated.
Occasionally, I take a detour to the dictionary to double
check my spelling or the proper usage of a word. I admit I also look at the suggestion and say phooey or some other remark dismissing the recommendation. A trip to the thesaurus might give me some alternatives that better suit my purpose. And then there are synonyms(maybe even an antonym while(or is it whilst, Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543?) that might be a better choice.
Naturally, there are those times when a single word doesn’t seem right - maybe a group of words assembled together in a quote would be better. And, like many throughout ActiveRainLand, I like quotes so I include them in my posts occasionally.
My own history tells me that taking trips here and there plus places in between can deliver some expected as well as a few unexpected surprises.
