How Many Of You Network Daily?

How many of you are networking Daily?  Notice the web with the spider?  Wink.  What does networking really mean to you?  No matter where you go, be friendly and ask others how you can assist others.  Do not sell.  No one wants to be sold too.  I have a confession to tell.  I used to be the worst person to sell, sell, sell.  People do not want to be sold too.  People want relationships!  Once people trust you, you will get the business, I assure you!  Do not make it about the sale but make it about the relationship.  Just talk to others and be friendly with others and get to know others.  I even pick up the phone and call others, just to let him or her know that I am thinking of him or her.  When I call others to just check up on him or her, people are quite shocked.  People, a lot of times, do not know what to say because I am not calling to try to make a sale but just check up on others.  Now, I am guilty of selling in the past, but I do not do that anymore.  Actually, I do not like to be sold too.  In fact, I get about 15 to 30 calls a day of others calling me to sell me and I just want to throw up when I get the call and someone tries to sell me.  So, I have learned not to sell but just care about others and get to know others, and BE REAL WITH OTHERS!

So, how in the heck do you go about networking with others?  It is really very simple.  Just be kind, be friendly, get to know others, be real, be personable, and show others you care.  Where ever you go, just let others know you care and that you want to help everyone, where ever you go and whatever you do.  ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TRY TO SELL ANYONE!  

After a while, people will be attracted to your personality if you do not try to sell and you will be like the web and you will attract so many people.  Do not worry about others who do not want to network with you.  Network with those who want to network and help one another grow.  One of the ways, I assist others on Active Rain, is by talking about others so he or she gets recognition.  People helping people.  When people see what I have written about him or her, they are so surprised and they always remember me.  

Another thing that I do to get others to remember me is to send out thank you cards or thank you gifts.  The gift does not have to be much but it does need to come from the heart and something, he or she can use daily.  One of the things that I give out, is lamps for the desk.  Every time, someone sees the lamp, he or she will think of the person, who gives the lamp out.

If you have a magnetic personality, you will attract others, like the spider above.  Wink. I am not referring to eating your victim either.  Lol.  If you have a magnetic personality and are positive and you are outgoing, you will attract others and many will want to be around you and associate with you.

Think Big! Think Positive! Think, how you can network with others! Think, how everyone could use your service, once he or she understands and sees your value.

Hello David - you're right, some people have a resistance(maybe a downright dislike) of salespeople.  Less talking, more listening(and carefully too) and building connections.

What would happen if we were to all pick someone on Active Rain to call to get to know, that we have never talked to?  Get to know him or her and write about one another to help assist one another monthly. I will be glad to help one another.

Many people struggle with this because making real relationships takes time. And I agree that people don't want to be sold to. I know I don't!

I get so many phone calls and so many who just want to sell me and not even get to know me.  I could just scream sometimes.  Lol.


Do people really think I will buy from him or her that call me if I do not know him or her?  It appears like they think this way.  It is all about the relationship to me and why do people not call me to just want to get to know me on the phone first and not try to sell me?  Cold calling does not work, if all people are doing is trying to sell me.  I wish I could change their mind but I guess people like to call others and get rejected.  Smiles. 


Folks need to get to know others.  People need to show they care.  People need to see how one another can help and assist one  another but do those who call me do this?  Not typically.  Smiles

Meet in person.

Call others on the phone.

Email others.

Social networking groups.

Go to physical social gatherings or do things on video camera.

Just a few things that help me.
