Firecracker heliconia in Haiku Maui - tropical flower

Speechless Sunday?  Perhaps.  Beautiful tropical flower - definitely.  All that lovely lush jungle just grows and grows and we don't have to water it or tend it much... just hack it back from time to time.  And we are greeted with these delightful blooms every year.

Haiku Maui is about as sustainable as it gets.  With plenty of rain, we never have to worry about wild fires or droughts.  We can grow food crops all year long.  Our air is some of the cleanest air on the planet.  The climate crisis has been really easy on us!

Hello Georgie,

Oh what a beautiful flower that firecracker heliconia is.   Our friends who were in Maui were telling us how crowded it is with tourists at the moment.  Happy Monday..  A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel Yes it is, and it's the low budget tourists, and some of them are rude and disrespectful and quite honestly we're not impressed.

Hi Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 - What a gorgeous tropical plant! The last time I saw an actual Firecracker Heliconia was several years ago in Florida. At the time, I was intrigued by this plant's unique beauty but I didn't know what it is called. Thanks to you, I know now! I can only image how lovely it would be to see them grow in Haiku Maui!

I LOVE this flower, Georgie! So colorful and tropical. I first saw it in a flower arrangement, but even better to see it growing wild.

Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 - If I could bust out of TX and travel I would ask if I could visit you not to occupy your precious time asking you to drag me around to see houses because if truth be told, I would not be able to relocate. No. I would ask you to spend a day or two walking the beaches to talk to me about life and inquire about all the beautiful plants and customs I am not familiar with. I would like to know your views on life and how you spend your days to nurture your soul. Then I would give you a social distance hug or a real one if acceptable to thank you for brightening my days on AR and for the time, the precious time I had with you.

In essence, all I want to say is thank you.
