What’s In A Name. . .
Names have recently been on my mind. Specifically baby names and the choices that make their appearance known. And likely far before the delivery by that stork at the intended destination.
Years ago, I remember when I first heard the name of the new addition to a clients’ family. It wasn’t a name I had previously heard. It turns out it was an homage to a character from a book. This served as another reminder not to choose that category in any virtual Jeopardy! Game that sometimes plays in my head.
With obvious anticipation, my niece and her husband awaited the arrival of their first child. Courtney’s husband’s name is Mitch. So of course, their baby-naming process included a round of the rhyming name game that is sometimes played in order to avoid any unfortunate mistakes that could cause any playground ruckus for their offspring in the future.
And the baby is a first on many levels. A first grandchild for my sister and brother-in-law plus the first great grandchild for my Mom. And I guess it's a first for me too - I have never been a great uncle before - in fact the word "great" typically avoids anything associated with me. Meanwhile I digress. . .
Parker Rose Bovy made her entrance to the world on August 26, 2021 at St Joseph Hospital in Orange, California measuring 20" in length and weighing in at 7 pounds 4 ounces. And since yesterday was also National Dog Day, their dog, Cooper played a part as well.
