Putting a twist on Grilling!!

Are you ready to take your grilling to the next level? How about Dessert's? Sounds crazy I know, I know.

I thought the same thing when I first heard it. But this is something you HAVE to try!!

My favorite grilled dessert recipe would have to be.... BANANA SPLIT KABOBS!!

Ingredients

3 bananas, slice bananas into 1-inch chunks

1 1/2 cups large stawberries, halved

1 1/2 cups fresh pineapple chunks

1 pint vanilla ice cream

1/2 cup caramel and/or chocolate ice cream topping

chopped nuts (optional)

whipped cream (optional)

maraschino cherries (optional)

1. Alternately thread bananas, strawberries, and pineapple on metal/wood skewers. Leave a 1/4 inch between each piece.

2. (Charcoal Grill) Grill kabobs on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals about 5 minutes or until fruits are warm and bananas are lightly brown, turning occasionally. (For gas grill) Preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Place kabobs on grill rack over heat. Cover and grill about 5 minutes.)

3. Serve with a scoop of ice cream and 2 fruit skewers. Drizzle with caramel/chocolate ice cream topping and, if desired, top it all off with nuts, whipped cream and cherries.

This dessert is great and easy to make. Takes 10-15 mins. from start to finish!! ENJOY!!!

At first when I saw the ice cream, I thought surely you don't put that on the grill.  Because in TX we do have fried ice cream.  Anyway, I happen to have all of those ingredients, and will try.

Oooh! I tried this after reading it -- amazing!! We had some mango and some plums that we added, didn't have any strawberries, though. Since we seemed to have a tropical thing going, we topped it with chopped macadamia nuts and some toasted coconut. Too awesome!! Great recipe -- thanks!
