I hope to start blogging frequently here to share my thoughts and opinions on real estate blogging. First, let me say that I am not a Realtor (nor do I play one on TV!). The company I serve as VP of Marketing, Blogging Systems, provides blog technology to the industry.
Not being a real estate professional, I feel a bit at a disadvantage. I can't speak to issues routinely covered here by those of you who are. I'm on the outside looking in.
I can speak to what I know though, and that is blogging. My goal will be to share with you what I've learned, mostly by trial and error, since starting my first blog in 2003.
In the way of an introduction, I ran my own business blog consultancy for a couple of years prior to joining Blogging Systems and, before that, was an online marketing consultant. I've blogged professionally for several major blog networks, including the well-known Weblogs Inc and Allbusiness.com, and co-authored a book on the subject.
The greatest joy of my life, professionally at least, is helping others discover how to use blogs as a marketing tool...and as a way of sharing their lives. Blogs are so much more than a marketing tactic. For me, they've been a means by which I've opened my life to others and made friends literally across the globe that I would have otherwise never known. It has been an extremely rewarding practice, and one in which I encourage you to engage.
If you've got a profile here at Active Rain and are not blogging, you're missing the whole point. If there's anything I can do to help you get started, please let me know. It will be my privilege.
