Pondering Paradox. . .

Industry Observer CalDRE #01165532

Pondering Paradox. .

The other day an article captured my attention but before we go “there” when does a plural of a word become problematic?  At times it can be perplexing or confounding(even confusing).

Although I tried to keep my attention on the subject at hand where the bigger topic of all things paradoxical was concerned, I couldn't get away from the absurdity of the moment.   Eventually(quite quickly actually) I questioned myself:  is this a part of the paradox that remains unanswered? Or is it the paradoxes we encounter each day?

Sure there might be a crisis which is followed by other crises.   Then on a different thought train, I think of the goose and geese.  Then thoughts of  a mouse then mice.  Soon it’s a moose and the multiples of them that come to mind.

Hmm. . .now where is Ol' MacDonald when you need him?  And that makes me think of James Dray who has recently shared with us many different people named MacDonald as well as McDonald

Meanwhile, I digress.   Where is that original thought?

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 - I have long found ways of entertaining myself but I enjoy it much when others can also find enjoyment in it too.

Beth Atalay - I may not always know how I got "here" but it's been a good "trip".

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - thank you for that follow-up comment.  I appreciate it.

I am fascinated by language, but no language is as crazy as English (I think). I love the rules we have in English (you know, those things we sometimes follow).

Hi Michael- there's no rhyme or reason for many of the English language's odd paths. I suspect where your mind wandered was where it was meant to go. And at some point, where you had planned on wandering will reappear.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty - isn't that the truth?

Kathy Streib - I remember(hearing or reading) from an ActiveRain expert that posts can be broken down into parts when it becomes too long to digest at a single setting.   I used to worry some about repeating myself - over and over and then over again.   I just accept that it is going to happen.  Is that a paradox or preposterous parable?

Hi Michael Jacobs - Well done! Your post reminds me of a similar thing that sometimes happens when we go to a particular website and end up "surfing" and end up at a complete 180º! Happy Thursday.

Morning Michael.

Thank you sir for the mention, just ponder (imagine) what you'll see once I get to Smith, or on my second round to Jones and the like... Do I see another pondering post?

Rocky Dickerson - now that is a discussion that can go "way back" in the machine, can't it?

James Dray - coincidentally, this post and the profiles you were writing on those particular names coincided at about the same time. As for further pondering, my mind wanders and wonders far(as well as nearby) in search of inspiration.  You(and anyone else) could be(and often are) the source.  Thank you for helping me tie together the pieces.

Michael Jacobs - is it no wonder kids born in Amerivca always struggle with spelling? Here's an interesting fact: Indian Americans have won every Scripps National Spelling Bee since 2008.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - I like to watch the national spelling bee champsionships should I happen to catch them and I am not surprised to see the fact you mention.

There is a compelling(and highly watchable in my opinion) documentary on the subject "Spellbound"(no relation to the Alfred Hitchcock classic) as well as a very entertaining play "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" I highly recommend if you enjoy "word play" and competition at a very different(yet still very intense) level.

Hi Michael Jacobs - Whenever I watched those Spelling Bee's I realized just how much more I need to learn! I don't have cable, Netflix, or anything like that other than the basic T.V. channels. If I ever have a chance to see the documentary you referred, I will tune in, for sure! It sounds like something I would enjoy.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - thank you.  A pondering path can lead in many directions.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - as you commented, it can be interesting and entertaining as well as enlightening to watch spelling bee competitions.  They can certainly be humbling when I look at my own ability to correctly spell.

Roy Kelley - that is not only understandable but a wise decision in my opinion.
