Selling a house tips. What you should know about "As Is" contracts

If you're selling your house you will likely receive multiple offers. It's a very strong sellers market in North East Florida. Some offers may be presented on an "as is" contract. Beware though.. as is doesn't always mean as is and buyers are counting on you not knowing that. Since the as is contract still gives the buyer a right to inspect and cancel within a certain time period...you can almost bet they will still ask you, the home seller to make some repairs. It's important you know this ahead of accepting an "as is" offer to purchase your home. Many buyers will ask for a lower price or more favorable terms with the expectation that after inspections are complete you won't want to kill the deal over a few repairs.
