Houwzer is Raising the Bar
I was reading an article in Inman this morning entitled "NAR can't raise the bar - but your broker can" and it inspired me.
When the real estate market is hot everyone gets their real estate license and sets up shop. There are many brokerages that offer high splits or even 100% commission and you pay a per-transaction or a monthly fee. There is rarely an interview process for Realtors, we choose a brokerage and transfer our license there and start working. Of course, we sign a contract and agree to conduct ourselves in a professional manner and reputable companies require new agents to shadow an experienced agent and take a training class but in exchange for that, we give up some commission and may only get 50-70% of the commission on a sale for a while. Have you ever looked into who has been disciplined for bad behavior on the Real Estate Commission website? I think it's very telling when you see the same brokerages there on a regular basis.
Houwzer has a very in-depth interview process, a screening phone call to make sure you meet the minimum requirements, then another phone interview, followed by a panel interview where you also have to do a presentation before hiring and the final say lays with the CEO of the company. Once you join, no matter how much experience you have, you must take a 3-week training program to learn how to do things the Houwzer way and you have a final exam. We are small but mighty and we are disrupting how real estate is done. Once you start working in the field we have regular biweekly check-ins with a manager and they go through our pipeline and keep us on track and on task. In exchange, we are paid a salary plus bonus (not a commission) and we receive great leads and amazing support.
Are you thinking about making a move? Houwzer is hiring, check it out, and tell them you read about Houwzer here.
