Administartive Goddess / God needed. AAAARGH!

Finding that certain someone is hard in life, especially when you are searching for the administrative goddess of the world (or god considering we are in a gender equal society).

Anyway, not so easy.  In fact, I’m having a wild time here in the land of the totally doomed.

It’s not that there is not talent out there.  Indeed there is talent - fine talent with a wide range of skill.  The problem I am having is more of a financial one.  It is so hard justifying the amount of money needed to secure these very expensive candidates.

Now, don't get the wrong idea - I’m not cheap.  And this has nothing to do with our real estate challenges.  It does, however, have everything to do with the unrealistic expectations of the JOB MARKET.

I mean, seriously, 80k for an office administrator is a bit much in any profession isn’t it?

Now, I could be wrong.  I could be way off.  But I would like to think I am a somewhat fair minded and tuned in business person.  I am paid, and relied upon to run a business effectively and with ability.

What would these people say if I hired an admin at 80k a year?  I'll tell you what they'd say, "would like your pink slip in blue or lavender."

Anyway, thoughts?

Wow..well i guess it depends on the scope of the job you want this person to do.  I have heard of Executive Administrative Assistants making over 6 figures a year, but I mean we are talking high up executives for fortune 500 companies.  I am not sure what the cost of living out there in DC is, I am sure it is close to hear in California.  I do think that 80k is a bit much, is this what they are asking for?  I mean without knowing the details of the job I would say that $50,000 would be the max I would go for an Office Administrator.  Good Luck...
