This weekend, we heard an albeit simple yet profound definition of enlightenment. Enlightenment is conscious awareness of how you feel at any moment in time. In other words, are you in harmony with the essence of you, or are you in a state of discord?
It also means that you know what to do when you do not feel great. That means you have to value feeling wonderful. In our mastermind, our partner came up with this analogy.
He likened it as heading in a direction, and all of a sudden you find yourself on the wrong off or on ramp. Many would get angry and upset with themselves, and work themselves into a frenzy trying to find a way to right their direction.
The bigger the frenzy, the bigger the momentum of having everything go wrong, and continue throughout one's day. Enlightenment would mean pulling along side of the road taking a breath, and righting oneself in the direction you need to go it.
When you do that, life begins to flow again, and your momentum becomes a harmonious flow, where everything goes peacefully downstream in the perfect direction. The happier you are, the more you appreciate, the more life works out for you. It is as simple as that.
"There is no enlightenment outside of daily life."
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
"Before enlightenment; chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment; chop wood, carry water."
~ Gautama Buddha
"If I could define enlightenment briefly I would say it is 'the quiet acceptance of what is'."
~ Wayne Dyer
"To become learned, each day add something. To become enlightened, each day drop something"
Wishing Everyone a great week!
