Word Full Wednesday: Pumpkins Arrive!

By

It is that time of the year, when every market has a huge display of pumpkins.  We stopped at two this morning and were astounded by the big boxes both in stores and outside the stores...Personally, I like the gnarly and decorative also known as fairy tale pumpkins!

"There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people...religion, politics and the Great Pumpkin!"

~ Charles M. Schulz

"Sometimes I think that ideas float through the atmosphere like huge squishy pumpkins, waiting for heads to drop on."

~ Neil Gaiman

"Just wait and see, Charlie Brown. I'll see the Great Pumpkin. I'll SEE the Great Pumpkin! Just you wait, Charlie Brown. The Great Pumpkin will appear and I'll be waiting for him."

~ Charles M. Schulz

Love it, Ron and Alexandra- I love the regular ones but really love the "different" ones!!!  When we were in Delray, Larry and I always went to a local church pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins but we may try something different this year.

Hi Ron and Alexandra,  Thanks for sharing these great pumpkins.  Love the quotes too.  I never discuss the Great Pumpkin with anyone either.

In the sequence, it's Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas so the pumpkins first is appropriate

Kathy Streib we have not bought a pumpkin in years.  I do remember seeing an incredible pumpking carving contest.  The most exquisite was a Cinderella coach with her footmen.  A

Morning Alexandra.

In the past we would buy at least one and carve it out for the event.  Now, we put a plastic one outside, besides it doesn't spoil.

Hello Alexandra and Ron - it is difficult to think of pumpkins without thoughts of Charles M Schulz entering ones mind.  At least for me.

Good morning again, Alexandra... we've been seeing pumpkin displays for some weeks now... but I have a feeling those displays will start multiplying in the weeks to come.

I haven't noticed pumpkins here, but to be honest I've probably walked right by them and not seen them.

And I always liked Linus' blind faith that the Great Pumpkin was coming. Hey, we all need something to believe in!

Enjoy your Thursday!

Chef Dolores picked up a pumpkin pie during her recent visit to Costco. It is delicious!
