Let Me Sleep On It. . .

Whether it's the words in this post title or something similar, we may often see/hear clues that speak volumes.

No immediate decision is forthcoming.

Picking up such clues certainly has much to do with time on this planet with experiences learned(or taught) as well as ones we once observed and now use to stall decision-making.

I found this quote which caught my attention:

Keep your temper.  A decision made in anger is never sound.

Ford Frick

I was previously unaware of Mr Frick or his words but finding him for a Friday post seems rather fitting. Alliteratively speaking that is.  Not to mention, the words make sense although my original thinking had me going in a different direction.  Happy Friday.  Have a good weekend.

"Let me sleep on it" is the equivalent in my mind of my Mother saying "We'll see" when we were children.   A simple NO will suffice, so please don't put it off.  LOL

Michael Jacobs - there are certain key words I hear, such as "let me sleep on it," that commands me to back off and wait with no pressure.

Reminds me of a seminar I went to decades ago on handling objections.  Someone asked "What is they want to go home and pray about it?"  Answer:  "Oh that is easy. Just reply "Who do you think sent me?"

Buzz Mackintosh - blowing fuses can certainly cause disruption and connections that run amok.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 - that can happen in any market as some buyers have "surprisingly" discovered.

Wayne Martin - that's always a possibility.  I know that to be a "fact" for me.

Sham Reddy CRS - I don't think anyone(who has actually been "there") can claim it to be always easy, right?  Thank you for the comment.

Kat Palmiotti - of course, you can sleep on it but be warned.  There may be a stampede coming right behind you(and with you too).

Brian England - that's always a possibility.

Joan Cox - good advice.  Sending regards versus regrets - or something like that.

Bill Salvatore - YVP Blog - I hear you.  Many could use this suggestion.  I know that definitely includes me.

Nina Hollander, Broker - I like the quote too.  When I went searching for words to go along with my thoughts in the post title - I had another thought but I like what I found from Ford Frick so much that the post "took on" a life of its own.

Roy Kelley - well-said(even though it was communicated in writing).  😃

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® - it can work to ones advantage at times.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - I have used that line as well at times. It can be effective as well as "telling" in other ways when the responses are learned.

Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! - each option you present is a possibility and maybe all three combined will show an entirely different scenario.

Kathy Streib - that can be true.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty - when I first saw the name of the author of this quote and after doing a quick online search about him, I thought of you.  And I was right, you were aware of him and added more detail to what I found.

Jeff Dowler, CRS - regardless of market conditions, it's always an option but the consequences may not be to ones liking.

I am heading to the Baseball Hall of Fame in about 3 weeks. He is well represented there. FYI...Cooperstown NY (where the HOF is located) is the most purly American town in the country. If you ever get the opportunity (and have not already done so) make a visit. It is not the only Museum in Cooperstown (the Farmer's Museum and the Fenimore Art Museum are simply amazing). Lake Glimmerglass and the Glimmerglass Opera House are not to be missed.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS - sometimes it's drama and at other times it can result in a comedy of errors plus lots of unexpected reactions.

Carla Freund - smart move.  And sensible too.

Sharon Tara - I get that.  Isn't that a great name?  It made the quote "pop out" from a sea of so many words for that reason.  Plus I like the simplicity of the message even when it's not always easy "to do" at the moment.

Lise Howe - I think you're right.  Time can be a terrific equalizer.

Susan Emo - I remember those words so well and "caught on" to that saying as a child.  She soon had to come up with a new strategy.   We kept her busy in that regard but it seems she always prevailed.  😃

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - "live and learn" comes to mind.

Joan Cox - "rage" is a not a good word.  In or out of a business relationship.

Endre Barath, Jr. - the ruffling of feathers is not a good strategy.

Jim Paulson - with a comeback like that, it makes me wonder what happened next???

I have never been very good at making decisions when I am angry or upset.  Sleeping on it does help.  Sometimes, maybe a cold beer too.  😉
