Things to Know Before Buying a Pet-Friendly Home in Boca Raton FL
There are things to consider before buying a pet-friendly home in Boca Raton FL. This is especially true when you are making the move with pets. Below are some great tips to help you.
What type of house are you looking for? Do you know? Is a single family home better than a a condo?
Maybe yes, maybe no. Do your dogs bark a lot? Do they fall within the condo's pet rules and regulations as to breed, number and weight? Do you mind going up and down an elevator to walk the dog at all times of the day or night?
If the answer to any of these is yes, then a single family home might be a better way to go. No one will complain about your dogs' barking, unless you leave them outside. And that's not a good idea in south Florida because of the heat, among other things.
A single family home within a homeowner's association may still have rules and regulations as to what type of pets you may have, for example, aggressive breeds, number or size.
Some people have no issue with pet restrictions in condos in Boca or Highland Beach. It works for them, and that's great. But please consider all your options before diving in so you won't have any surprises later on.
If you're over 55, you have the additional option of a pet-friendly villa.
Pet-friendly villas are available in both condo and homeowner's associations. You still have rules regarding your furry friends, so don't forget to check. Not everyone is familiar with what a villa is. In a villa, everything is on one level. It's like a condo, and it's usually attached on one or more sides. A villa may or may not have a garage.
Don't forget to consider your pets. They're like children and moving can affect them too. Moving an older cat to a new home takes planning. And here are 5 tips to help your dog adjust to your new home in Boca.
