In the West Georgia, South West Metro Atlanta area, there have been several new parks added in the past decade. Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Coweta County, and Little Tallapoosa Park, a Carroll County park and it opened in 2012. The name of this park is from the Little Tallapoosa River that stretches from the headwaters made up of branches of mud Creek, Sweetwater Creek (from the lake at Sweetwater State Park Near Douglasville GA), Guthard's Creek clear up around Lithia Springs and Austell Georgia, heading South West into Alabama where it eventually runs into Lake Wedowee (aka: R. L. Harris Reservoir) in Randolf County Alabama.
Little Tallapoosa Park is on 330 acres, offering almost 10 miles of nature trails with almost 3 miles of paved. It has two fishing ponds, pavilions, picnic areas, and even a splash park for kids.

Little Talapoosa Park is a great place for camping! There are 23 RV Campsites, some large enough for a big motorhome, with pull thru's and back in sites. These have water/sewer and electrical hookup. Then there's another section in the campgrounds featuring 32 tent or pop-up camp sites with 120 watt electrical outlets to power a light or charge up your laptop.

The campsites are clean and flat, well maintained, and each has a picnic table and a fire pit with grill. If you're like me, you're going to want a shower, maybe several each day especially when it's hot and humid out, and guess what? This campground has showers. I've read there is also a washer and dryer.

There is also an equestrian campground as well. I really like this park and will enjoy coming back with my RV and staying a night or two and enjoy checking out the rest of the trails
