Long Island Home Buyers What Are You Waiting For?

By
Real Estate Agent with The Top Team @ Charles Rutenberg Realty 255 Executive Dr, Plainview NY 11803

When you purchase a Long Island home, you are building more wealth for yourself rather than for a landlord.

You have probably read many times that Real Estate ownership is promoted as an investment that is likely to build equity along with a source of tax deductions.

As a renter, you may be paying more on monthly housing expenses than people who own a home.

Home ownership brings the sense of stability, belonging to a community, a smart wealth strategy, .along with the pride of ownership!

What are you waiting for Long Islander's? Let Lawrence "Larry" and Sheila Agranoff help you find your L.I. dream home or condo.

Good morning Larry and Sheila. Real estate is the best investment for 99.9% of people. The remainder do better as renters for various reasons. Enjoy your day.

When you own your own home, so many things are possible - you might be able refinance in the future to bring rates down. If the real estate market is strong, your equity will build. You can make changes as you see fit, paint in colors you want, expand rooms, etc. With a sense of permanency, you will forge better relationships with neighbors, and on and on.

It seems like such a simple concept to build one's own wealth rather than a landlord's.

Waiting for the Peak to be reached.  But how long do you wait, and how much does it cost you?  Have a great Thursday, also known as Friday-Eve.  The weekend is in sight.  Thanks again for the Blog.  Bill Salvatore

Good afternoon, Larry and Sheila,  I was perusing past posts and came upon yours about homeownership which I agree with.  I have done a multitude of columns for my 130,000+ subscribers in 11 papers for  Stephen Blank's Blank Slate Media and Meg Norris's Litmor Publications throughout Long Island; as well as syndicated domestically and Internationally.  Looking back to almost 3 years ago, if some of those renters had just taken the plunge and bought some housing they would have been way ahead of the game in building their future wealth and became the landlord gaining all the appreciation, tax deductions, and be in that powerful position to decide when and if they wanted to move, instead of someone else making that decision.  As we know, homeownership has been the most valuable asset of the typical homeowner throughout the U.S.  Unfortunately, those who are uneducated due to their lack of financial education (which they can take responsibility for and blame only themselves) is one of the main reasons that renters wealth is so much lower than homeowners.  The multiplying effect and leverage of homeownership is a rare commodity.  There should be a mandatory curriculum in primary and secondary education as well as higher education to prepare more consumers for potential homeownership.
