Thankful Thursdays...For the Good in People

Call me naive but I have always believed that there is some good in 99.9% of the people out there.

It may be that the “good” is taking a nap or hasn’t yet been given the opportunity to show itself, but it’s there.

For example, until recently Larry has been missing in action on our morning walks. He is working through planters fasciitis and has progressed to short walks.

There have been so many people who have stopped me to ask how my husband is. Some I know by name, and others I “know” via our exchanges of “Good morning” to each other.

There was a lady on the walking path...we’d never spoken, only smiled a “good morning” to each other...who stopped me just to ask how my husband was.

We’ve all been through a rough year and then some. Forces keep trying to make us take see those who do not think as we do as being wrong or evil. Names have been called.

I am so grateful for the opportunities given to me daily to see the real good that exists in people.

Try to see the good in others. When you're tempted to judge someone, make an effort to see their goodness. Your willingness to look for the best in people will subconsciously bring it forth. Marianne Williamson

As you do, I believe in the good in people. Until they show me otherwise. :-)

Hi Kathy - I hope that Larry continues to progress and will be with you shortly. People are good.  So many stop to help me when they see Phyllis struggling.

I am like that too, I know there is good in each and every one of us.  The good has definitely been napping for a great many people though, haha.

We agree, and I think that one needs to see their own goodness first, and that will open one's eyes even more to other people's goodness.  I hope Larry's foot/feet get better soon.  A

Kathy I so agree....I see good all around me and in others.  There is way more good than the opposite if only people make the choice to see it and believe it.

Nina Hollander, Broker sometimes it takes the right person or situation to bring it out.

Kat Palmiotti true!!!  and then it takes a lot to turn it around.

Grant Schneider His foot is much better, thank you. Before his shunt surgery years ago, that's how we met someone who would become our trainer. He saw Larry having some issues while walking at the beach and he came up to see if he could help.

Kathy I would also like to think there is SOME good in everyone, BUT I have met enough people in my life who have really challenged that belief.
