Today, I'm with the multi-talented renowned chef and bartender in the DMV area, founder of the Sincerely Yours Personal Chef Services, and a dear friend, Angela Smigel. We talked about her story in the culinary world and her latest venture.
Being a Bartender and a Culinary Chef
As for Angela being a person that loves to stay busy, she saw bartending as a good hobby and a way to support events, and so she did it when schooling was coming to an end. I've attended numerous events of her in her bartending career, and I've got to day that she's all about involvement -- and she actually makes delicious drinks!
Knowing that a huge part of her is all about cooking, she then entered the culinary world being a private chef after being an executive assistant for 20 years.
Secret to Cooking
When asked about her secret in cooking delicious international meals, she said that it's all about cooking from scratch, and getting the ingredients fresh -- from meat and vegetables, down to the spices. She loves cooking Indonesian, Italian, and Indian foods, with veggie biryani being her most favorite dish.
Giving Back to the Community
As a person of passion, she wanted to venture out to more branches in the culinary industry and help out other aspiring personal chefs achieve their goals in becoming the best chefs they can be. Aside from the Sincerely Yours brand, she is also working with another project named Achiever Status, LLC -- being a consultant for other personal chefs, providing leadership and guidance to the new ones. "It's a personal love project right now as I cook and bartend," she said. "it's really a good position to be in, to create a business out of love instead of necessity," she added.
Meeting Angela a few years ago, I immediately saw this burning passion she has with cooking. Being a well-rounded person she is now -- having a culinary degree, being an executive assistant, and having her own cooking brand and projects, I believe that not only she deserves the things she have right now, but she also is a great help for the culinary community around the area to make their dreams come true.
