On September 22, 2021, National Association of Realtors® (NAR) reported that a median home value price was $356,600 in August of 2021 rose 14.9% from the price of $310,400 in August of 2020.
Single family home sales were at annual rate of 5.19 million units in August of 2021 declined 1.9% from the annual rate of 5.29 million home sales in July of 2021, and lower 2.8% from home sales in August of 2020. The median single family home price was $363,800 in August of 2021, increased 15.6% from August of 2020.
Condominium and co-op sales were higher to an annual rate of 690,000 units in August of 2021 decreased 2.8% from 710,000 in July of 2021, but jumped 9.5% from August of 2020. Median existing condo price was $302,800 in August of 2021, higher 10.8% from August of 2020.
Distressed homes sales were 1.0% in August of 2021 same as from 1.0% in July of 2021, and unchanged from 1.0% in August of 2020.
Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, stated "A number of potential buyers have merely paused their search, but their desire and need for a home remain."
