Thankful Thursdays...A Year’s Worth of Gratitude
Once again it is time that I reflect on what I’ve learned (or relearned) this past year and rejoice in what I have.
If you’re going to go through this life you might as well learn something, right? So, what have I learned?
~When you are factoring in what might go wrong in an endeavor, the one element that will always screw things up is the human element.
Don’t get me wrong, I love people and believe in their basic goodness, but just like a chemical equation, the one unstable element will always be a human. When you remember to factor that in, you’ll be fine.
Getting older is fine. There is nothing you can do to stop it so you might as well stay on the bus. John Byrne
~Life is far better when you allow yourself not to sweat the small stuff.
This is not a dress rehearsal, so you have to prioritize how YOU (and only you) want to spend your time.
~Hugs, family and friends go together
We resumed hugging last year long before others did. Hugs are like the one-a-day vitamin for your soul.
The one cool thing with getting older is that you can actively choose to just be an eccentric. Greg Behrendt
~No matter how prepared you think you are for something...you aren’t.
When our snow and freeze hit us in February, I was prepared up to a point. Who would have imagined that Houston would have snow and a hard freeze that caused us to be without power for over 2 days?
I continue to be overjoyed for all that I have in my life.
-Realizing that Mini-me is more like me than I’d ever imagined.
-Face-timing with my grandson Thatcher so we could talk Monday Night Football is a dream come true.
-Being alive with all of the new technological advances we have is a thrill.
-And ALWAYS grateful for my gift from heaven...Larry.
Let us never know what old age is. Let us know the happiness time brings, not count the years. Ausonius
A few moments from my year…
And one of my favorite quotes from An Affair to Remember…
Had I known I was going to live this long, I’d never have let the housekeeper go!
Happy Birthday to my fellow Libran Debbie Gartner !
