This Agent Did It Just Because…
Many years ago when I was an affiliate member of the local Board of Realtors, I met one of the most giving agents.
In 2007, Yvonne saw the importance of learning as much as she could about short sales and foreclosures. The writing was already on the wall. She learned so much that she was holding seminars with and for attorneys.
One of the ladies I’d met on our walks at Green Cay in Boynton Beach was, like many in 2007, having a difficult time.
She and her husband had lost their jobs and even though both were actively looking, opportunities were not opening up for them. They were eating through their retirement savings to pay their mortgage and their lender was not even responding to their requests for a meeting.
When I asked Yvonne if she could help my friend, she did not hesitate. She met with my friend and her husband and in short order, their lender was working with them. They were able to sell their home and return to their home state and save their retirement funds.
A few months later, Yvonne called with a special request. At least once a year she would work with a client and charge them nothing. This, she said, was her way of giving back, since she had been given so much.
She asked if I would provide a consultation at no charge for her seller. Of course, I would!!
The home had not been maintained and was in need of updates but with some elbow grease, and editing, we could help show buyers its potential.
These were not the only instances when Yvonne gave with her heart.
When I asked her why did what she did...giving away her time and services...she told me it was because she could. And she went on to say that it really hadn’t cost her anything to show someone some kindness.
Never stop doing little things for others. Sometimes those little things occupy the biggest part of their heart.
