Google's Sustainability Policy is Apocalyptic

I just watched and re-watched this 2:35 second video about Google's sustainability policy.  They make some amazing points and a pretty scary one too!

They mention:

  • 2007:  "Google becomes the first major company in history to become carbon neutral" (I guess all history of the world and all of it's companies being carbon neutral before the industrial revolution doesn't apply here).
  • 2017:  "First major company to match it's entire electricity consumption with renewable energy" (KUDO's)
  • September 2020:  "Became the first major company to neutralize our entire legacy carbon emissions" (AMAZINGLY GREAT)

So far I am loving on this video.  So what's next?  Well, they admit the next decade will be their most ambitious yet.  This is where it starts to get scary!

They admit in this video that they want to "help build a carbon-free future for everyone".

I am a carbon based life form and this is FREAKING ME OUT!

As an optimist, at least I can do more effective retirement planning since I am being phased out in 9 years.

If this apocalyptical prediction is correct, when I die, I will be able to claim that my solar powered lighthouse tombstone has been carbon neutral for a decade preceding my death.

THE END!

Jim,

What a funny thought this is.  The whole Google sustainability idea is AKA as public relations...while continuing their nosy ways.  A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel my views from my hotel room today is overlooking the cemetary in Langdon, North Dakota.  The people across the streek (aka buried) have not been emitting any carbon dioxide for a while either.

The good news is that it is an auspicious goal and it may take a few extra years to rid the world of all carbon.  I heard they borrowed their new tagline from the Borg, "join with us, resistance is futile. We are the Google."

Raymond Henson, eXp Realty I have started researching Artificial Intelligence and am shocked at how far it has come already.  Elon Musk referred to all the various social media platforms as a Cybernetic Collective.  We freely offer our most innermost thoughts, beliefs, etc for these amazing computers to treat as a Rorschach Inkblot.

Hi Jim- whenever I see the word neutralize in conjunction with any life form, it scares me.

Jim, I am sure the next decade will be quite amazing, as so much has already been accomplished, but probably just a dent.

Joan Cox I will be putting together a class on the use of Artificial Intelligence in real estate for 2022.  The more I research it, the deeper down the rabbit hole I go.  It started off as Science Fiction, but it is heading toward Science Fact.
