It is fall, a time for transition. In Scottsdale, AZ fall is a time to put those hot summer days behind us and get back outdoors to enjoy the clear skies and cooler sunny days.
As the weather mellows, we begin to welcome back visitors and many of our annual fall festivities. One fall festivity that has become a yearly event is The Pumpkin Patch at MacDonald's Ranch in North Scottsdale.
Owned by the Richardson Family, MacDonald's Ranch has been a western-themed fun park that offers horseback riding, hayrides, and paintball outings since 1956.
Each year the owners convert the ranch to The Pumpkin Patch for the month of October. They offer anxious pumpkin pickers a chance to find their favorite gourd at discount prices. While you are at The Pumpkin Patch you can visit the petting zoo. Bring the kids or grand kids for a pony ride. Or wander through the hay bale maze.
Want something even more exciting than a pony ride? They feature horseback riding for riders of all experience levels. Even a mechanical bull for those who fancy themselves a cowpoke.
Looking to get rich quick? Everyone gets a chance to pan for gold. With gold prices on the rise, your admission fee could turn out to be the best investment you make today.
After a few hours of western-themed fun, stop for a hearty lunch from the Barbecue Food Truck.
The Pumpkin Patch is a great place to stage those western themed selfies for your family album or Instagram posts.
Want to save a few dollars on admission? MacDonald's Ranch offers a variety of discounts to Veterans, First Responders, Teachers, Clergy, and Senior Citizens. Don’t qualify for one of these discounts? Bring a non-perishable food donation for $1.00 of your admission.
