This Week...I Got to Meet Carol Williams
This community is so very special because of the members. And the icing on the cake is when you get the opportunity to meet a member you feel like you already know.
Friday I got to meet Carol Williams as she made Houston part of her Epic Road Trip.
Poor Carol hit Houston Thursday afternoon and even though it was early, she hit rain, construction, and accidents. I have to give her credit for driving in Houston traffic even though she had a GPS! It's not easy driving, avoiding objects on the road, and trying to read the GPS.
Carol is exactly who you see in her blog and when I’ve seen her in the Zoom meetings!!
We talked all through our pedicure and manicure! We discussed ActiveRain (of course), her trip, thus far, and our families.
Lunch was at Cyclone Anaya’s (Tex Mex!) and the weather was nice enough to sit outside. Carol had fish tacos (I’m trying those next time, and I had a fajita salad.
I think many of us have been living vicariously through Carol’s trip which began August 27 in Boise, ID taking her south and east through Denver to the east coast and Charlotte, Atlanta, down through Savannah, and a turn around to the west for her return trip home, through Houston, Austin, Dallas, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.
I am in awe of her accomplishment!!! Safe journey to my new “old” friend, Carol.
Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day. Dalai Lama
