Carlsbad Village Street Faire ~ November 7, 2021
After being canceled in 2020 due to COVID, one of the area’s favorite arts and crafts fairs returns to Carlsbad Village on Sunday November 7th. The fair is sponsored by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
The Carlsbad Village Street Faire is supposedly the largest outdoor 1-day fair in the US. Held annually in the spring and fall, the fair will run from 8 am until 4 pm.
The Carlsbad Village Street Faire is held in the heart of the Village, along Grand Avenue from Carlsbad Boulevard to Jefferson. Because of the size the fair also spills over onto side streets including State Street. You’ll see signs warning everyone about this upcoming special event, since much of the parking on these streets will not be available due to the fair. (photo from a prior art fair)
The Carlsbad Village Street Faire is pretty impressive. With over 750 vendors, one could say there is (probably) something for everyone.
As a result, you can plan on a crowd of thousands enjoying clothing, art, crafts, gift items, home goods and accessories, collectibles, plants and garden items, antiques, products from around the world, and so much more.
If you actually tire of visiting all the vendors you can explore the restaurants and retailers in the Carlsbad Village area on the side streets, including the popular Village Faire Shopping Center just north of the railroad tracks at 300 Carlsbad Village Drive.
And the Carlsbad beaches are just a couple of blocks away for a walk before or after.
You should expect parking to be very limited due to the crowds, with many spaces taken up by Carlsbad Village Street Faire vendors, so arrive early. The good news is parking is free in Carlsbad.
You might make it easy on yourself and take advantage of the free shuttles offered throughout the day at roughly 15-minute intervals. Shuttles leave from the parking lot at the northwest corner of Sears at The Shoppes at Carlsbad (at the 78 and El Camino Real/Marron Road), and the Poinsettia Coaster Station on Avenida Encinas between Palomar Airport Road and Poinsettia.
As in the past, the Kiwanis Club of Carlsbad will be hosting their popular pancake breakfast, a tradition for the last 25 years. The breakfast is at the Carlsbad railroad depot.
You can also enjoy the beer and wine garden with live music, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carlsbad.
What a great opportunity to get started with your holiday shopping, and perhaps some great finds for yourself.
