Sunday night was a wonderful opportunity to meet “one on one” with Carol Williams! I’ve been following her Epic Road Trip and so glad she had time to spend Sunday night dinner with me at the Steiner Ranch Steak House in the hill country in Austin Texas. What a sunset photo she captured! One of the best I've seen taken.
After 18 holes of golf at the Falconhead Golf Club she was able to get back to her hosts house, freshen up and meet me for dinner! I had a table overlooking Lake Travis reserved and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect! Nothing like a chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio to start the evening off, followed by a good Texas steak, coffee and a signature bread pudding desert to top the evening off. Mike Gonzales offered some soothing live entertainment featuring acoustic cover songs.
Carol's favorite Seattle Seahawks team was playing the Pittsburgh Steelers when we left, she watched the game when she returned home and unfortunately they lost 23-20. Tough game!
I follow Carol’s posts and feel like I know her. A face to face meeting, some time to share stories and ideas allowed us both to realize how much we have in common. Active Rain is an amazing community and I feel so grateful for the friendships developed!
Carol is a problem solver so striking out alone on this coast to coast trip hasn’t fazed her. Even the cracked windshield on the second day out was not a problem. She just got it fixed while having lunch!
She’s off to Cranbury, TX tomorrow to have lunch with Dr. Paula McDonald and then on to Dallas! Safe travels my friend..I'll be following you on your way home!
