Housing Inventory Remains Low Nationwide

Housing inventories were at record lows in 2020. NAR shows us that 2021 has dipped below even those numbers, creating a national average of 2.6 months to be on market. Far below the 6 months that is considered equal status for both home buyers and sellers.

There will be niche's that show much lower inventory levels, such as Sandpoint North Idaho. Do not mistake the low inventory for homes not being sold! Transactions are up but the difference being there is not a large number of homes to view at any one time.

Nina, our MLS gives data that is askew. They include on market time with the escrow. As we know this is a crazy market right now and even during semi normal times escrow can be 30 to 45 days. So with our MLS showing 60 plus days it truly is not accurate to when a home comes on market to accepted offer. Like yours of less than 1 month. Make it a productive week ahead Nina. Mark
