Community and Real Estate Information

Located inside the Warsaw metropolitan area, the little town of Winona Lake is home to about 5,000 people. Winona is well-known for the abundance of artisan stores, boutiques, and restaurants in "The Village," which are all located in the same area. Weekend art events, the Fat & Skinny Tire Festival, a network of hiking and bike trails, and the historic Billy Sunday Museum all draw travelers from all over the Midwest to this small town.  Grace College is located near Winona Lake, and many of the school's former students and faculty have chosen to make Winona Lake their permanent home.

Naturally, Winona Lake itself is one of the most popular attractions in this small town. On the lake's 571 acres you will watch some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. An impressive fireworks display over the lake takes place every 4th of July for residents and visitors. As an all-sports lake, it is ideal for boating, water skiing, kayaking, and fishing, where you may expect to catch bluegill, catfish, bass, sunfish, and perch. The average depth of the lake is 30 feet, with a maximum depth of 79 feet.

There are parks, splash pads, and public beaches on the east side of Winona Lake where you may find a lot of families having fun in the sun and swimming all summer long. Ten miles of woodland hiking and biking routes can also be found in the eastern part. Lakefront homes in Kosciusko County are more difficult to come by because it is one of the county's most desirable lakes. The size of the homes on the lakeshore varies from small cottages to large lakefront estates.

Historically, property values in Winona Lake have been steadily increasing since the 1980s. Though the majority of the island's and village's houses have been rebuilt, a small number still need renovation. Southtown, Heritage Lake Park, Lexington Manor, Stonehenge, and a new subdivision of new homes named Tuscany are all located outside of the city proper of Winona.

Winona Lake is a great area to live in with lots to do. As a previous resident of Winona proper for over a decade, I wholeheartedly suggest this place. It's fantastic.
