Remember that one time I flew to Berlin to personally deliver the keys to their new Maryland home to my buyers? If we've been virtually or otherwise connected for a few years, you know the story, if not, you can read it here.
Back then I called it one of the highlights of my career which is still true, but its significance has shifted. What was then my Real Estate success of the year - selling a house unseen to buyers overseas and forming an incredible connection along the way - became a springboard.
That one time I flew to Berlin was not just one event, but it planted the seed for many more to come. Back then I was a single mother committed to raising my two daughters the very best way I could. 7 years later, I am still a single mother and still committed of course, but my daughters are not little anymore. They have grown into two remarkable young women who will - no doubt - reach for the stars, touch them, too, and then go on to move mountains. Both are top of their class and forging ahead on their own chosen paths, which is giving me the space to pursue my passion, my niche within my niche, whole heartedly.
That one time I flew to Berlin was followed by more sight-unseen transactions, working with international home buyers, viewing property in different countries and selling local listings with my clients residing abroad. That one time I flew to Berlin has now lead me to taking the CIPS® designation course.
Becoming a Certified International Property Specialist has been a desire of mine ever since. I am now knee deep into it, learning, discussing, connecting, growing, imagining all the possibilities.... and I am loving it!
That one time I flew to Berlin...
You never know what one chance encounter can lead to.
