Good morning Elyse - that is not the first time we have heard this story.  I also wrote a blog about a client alarm company.  Years later I got a call about it.

Hello Elyse - finding the source of why someone contacts you can be a bit like a treasure hunt at times.  It is often filled with mysterious clues and little tidbits of information thrown about.   

Over the years, I have found that, even though it might not be mentioned by name, a past(sometimes years-old) ActiveRain post may be part of the answer.

Over the years, much of my business was a direct result of blogging.  Even after I retired, I continued to get calls for several years.  I know not everyone gets the same results.

ActiveRain is even more powerful than we know at times and I have had instances like that where someone knew something about me that I didn't recall advertising myself as but they had come to that conclusion from reading my posts.

Elyse, great job on getting this call on a past post.   Hope you are able to get her into a listing, once one hits the market.

Wow! Blogging is certainly an effective way to market yourself--and allows the public a chance to get to know you before they call. Congratulations! Looks like this client make the right choice in a realtor! 😊

I've not contributed new consumer facing content in a bit over the year here in the Rain.  And yet, the phone calls keep coming from those old posts for the communities and types of homes I want to work.

Thank you Elyse, for this great and interesting post. I'm new at this. Does anyone know the percentage of blogs to referral or calls. How many blogs do you think you'd have to do before you get some calls to start coming in ? Just Tryingto find a light at the end of the tunnel. 

Congratulations Elyse for the feature and getting the call!!!  Liz and Bill Spear as said this many times about making your posts evergreen and you just never know how or when but you'll get a call. I'm glad that you're going to help her!!!

It is a constant as the blogs we post about communties will get calls and people don't look for the dates they look for the phone number

Hello Elyse Berman, PA, I get calls all the time asking for HOA information or events in the area which is OK. The most recent call I received was from a buyer, they found me online, I'm almost positive it was from ActiveRain. I have not been blogging much but that will change soon.

HI Elyse Berman, PA - Blogging does work.  I have had many calls from a potential client saying they found information from a blog I wrote.  But there have been times that I have "googled" info and found that my own blog came up.  I completely forgot I had written about the topic!

Elyse, I got a call last Sunday from a video I did (and posted on my website) on an upscaled neighborhood.  She wants to buy a custom home.

Man O Man if I could go back and buy stuff from 2014! She probably thought she found the perfect investment property. Poor thing!
