Yesterday I got a call about my listing in a certain community. Puzzled because I don't have a listing in the community at this time, I started to explain how IDX works, thinking this was how the caller had found me.
She listened but told me no, she found me on Active Rain. She was certain of that.
I was still confused because it's been a while since I posted about this community. She texted me a copy of a post from 2020 and another from 2014 about this same community. The caller thought they were current listings.
I thanked her for calling, explained these weren't current listings (the dates were on the posts) and explained what Active Rain was. She had never heard of it before.
In the midst of this, I remembered Liz and Bill Spear 's post Old Posts Keep on Ticking and realized, once again, that blogging really works. Most people don't want to be bothered. After all, blogging is time consuming and can turn into a full-time job if you let it. But bottom line, it works. Even years later. as you can see.
The caller is looking for someone to list a condo for a seasonal rental. While I don't normally do rentals, I didn't have the heart to turn her down. After all, she had found me on Active Rain! We have an appointment to meet when she comes into town next week.
It's been many years now and many posts (although not near as many as some AR'ers,) but bottom line, blogging works. The time you put in is well worth the effort in the long run.
There are weeks that I have blogger's block (is that what it's called?) I sit at my computer staring, and the words don't come. And other times, they just flow. Despite that, I continue to blog as many others I have met through the years. And I will continue to, helping people with their furry friends find pet-friendly condos in Boca Raton and more.
To blog or not to blog? I'll keep on blogging!
If you are thinking of buying or selling a home in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Highland Beach, or Boynton Beach, call me first! With pets or without.
