No Relief for Buyers Until March
As the weather cools, the housing market intensity heats up for each new listing on the market. The Sales Activity Intensity™ in Whatcom County is the same as it was in Oct. 2020 and is approaching spring 2021 levels. Buyers wanting to lock in a great interest rate are driving the intense sales activity, but they will face constrained inventory until March 2022.
In Whatcom County, the market is virtually sold out to the $1 million price point. Sales Activity Intensity™ is extreme frenzy for homes priced up to $750,000 (81 percent of sales activity). The $750,000 to $1 million range has frenzy Sales Activity Intensity,™ and there is strong luxury sales activity above $1 million.
IT’S OKAY TO BUY AND SELL DURING WINTER
Though many associate the spring and summer with buying and selling homes, the best time to buy and sell is when the timing is right for you! When you buy and sell within same-market timing, you will usually end up with approximately the same net asset equity once the sale is closed.
The major advantage of buying and selling during this time is locking in a great interest rate. If you’re considering buying and/or selling this winter, connect with your trusted agent to formulate a plan for success.
