Where To Dine Out In Charlotte On Thanksgiving Day 2021

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Realty 179530

Thanksgiving Day is just two weeks away... and if you're not looking forward to the work involved in preparing a Thanksgiving feast, Charlotte has a number of excellent restaurants that will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. And have you heard that there is a shortage of small turkeys this year? So if your Thanksgiving get-together is small, dining out might be a more cost-effective option.

If you're thinking of dining out on Thanksgiving Day, don't delay in making your reservations--it's only 15 days till Thanksgiving and as we don't have quite as many restaurants open, post-pandemic, on Thanksgiving Day as we normally do, places are getting booked up quickly and early. If you wait too long to make a reservation, you just may end up having to cook that Thanksgiving Day turkey after all!

Nina, I do prepare a small meal, turkey thigh and some of the fixings, but still have leftovers.    Great list for anyone wanting to eat out that day!

Hi Nina - if you have a large group you better reserve now.  Last time we went out to eat as a large group on Thanksgiving it was Colonial Williamsburg.  We reserved a year in advance.

Endre Barath, Jr. hi Endre... no offense taken... but we are a family of two here in Charlotte... and while I go all out at Christmas, for me Thanksgiving is a bit of a day of rest for me. I've never done a Thanksgiving dinner in my own home, except when we lived in Paris. Then I'd host a Thanksgiving dinner for our fellow expatriate American friends, which one year also included Robert Altman and his wife Katherine (who was a friend of mine in Paris) when he was directing a movie in Paris.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... the turkey shortage here is for smaller turkeys... we don't need much for two people. If we are not going to a dinner at the homes of friends, we like to go to the Ballantyne Hotel's Thanksgiving Day buffet in their ballroom... it's beautiful, the food is outstanding, and we have no leftovers to deal with for days on end.

Grant Schneider hi Grant... it's just the two of us this year... and our table for two is already booked for the Thanksgiving Day Buffet at the Ballantyne Hotel. They were closed last year and the year before that I was visiting friends in Connecticut... so it's been a few years since we were there.

Brian England good morning, Brian... what constitutes an amazing Thanksgiving is different for different people. For me a good Thanksgiving does not include cooking.

Dear Nina,

This seems to be a trend. So many people have told me they refuse to cook this year.

Dorte Engel hi Dorte... it's a lot of work to cook a holiday meal for just two of us... and when I went to the store a turkey breast (not the entire turkey) was $24! Just insane. Eating out at Thanksgiving has become very popular for some years now.

Dear Nina,

Makes sense. Such a big meal for two people would require a big freezer for the leftovers. When you cook that much, it is good to see a big group of people eat it and be in a food coma together.
