Post-Thanksgiving Thoughts can certainly turn to steals and deals as well as all sorts of things related to Black Friday if ones mind routinely goes in that direction on the "day after". But as we continue to learn, “typical” may no longer be "expected" to be true. Especially when used with words like "normal", "ordinary", "usual" or the like. Have they outgrown their shelf life? Or are they simply in short supply this year?

I like this quote from a source who was well-known in many circles for being like none of those customary descriptions I previously mentioned. I think it is an ideal choice for a time that is far from 'average':

When the going gets weird, the weird go pro.

The quote is attributed to Hunter S Thompson but I wonder who else might have said it?

Yes, I wonder a lot. About weird things and other stuff too. However, a Post-Thanksgiving Day Black Friday "patronage participation plan" is not on my list today. But whatever you choose to partake today, may I suggest you "go pro" or perhaps go for an additional helping of another kind?

Hello Michael Jacobs some people a month before prepare for Black Friday. In a few occasions, I woke up at 5:00 am and joined the crowd to shop on Black Friday, but not anymore. Happy Friday and Happy Weekend too!

Good morning Michael,
I have never been a Black Friday shopper in person and not really online either. I do a lot of online shopping but not necessarily on Black Friday. When I want or need something I buy it. Maybe the image below will explain why I don't get excited about "sales". Note the "original" price on these gloves and the "black Friday" price. First of all, a glove like that would never sell for more than $15. Secondly, I paid under $11 for that exact same glove (from that same vendor) earlier in the year.

Michael, I enjoyed decorating my home and had just a 'chill' day-after-Thanksgiving! Black Friday deals were still going on Saturday & Sunday so, I did capture a few good deals for gifts and some glucosamine treats for my arthritic doggies. I will say that, as @Carol Williams pointed out, you have to research the prices (or KNOW them). The 'Black Friday' deals are not always the real deal!
