Inhale…Exhale…Did you hear your breath? Ok try it once more. This time, close your eyes as you listen to the sounds around you.
Can you still hear your breath? Or… are you being distracted by the other noises you can hear everywhere?
Well, let me guess.
Aside from your own breathing, there might also be a joining sound of the chirping birds; a thunder might be, the croak of the rooster from the neighborhood, and the like. So to say, regardless of where you are… you keep hearing the sound of nature from its living creatures.
Yet, have you ever thought of trying to reminisce those times when you had your road trips and picnics in the park or anywhere outside your home? It sounds nostalgic, right?
As you put your thoughts about things such as these while thinking when the pandemic will end is absolutely tormenting. Not only it brings you a frustrating feeling; all in a while, you also realize how different your life becomes since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus had brought the “new normal” lifestyle among everyone.
For the year, restricted quarantine was lifted in areas that are susceptible to positive cases of the virus. As a result, depressive/ anxiety disorder is experienced by many, which is linked to poor mental health outcomes, such as isolation and job loss.
But worry no more. Why? Because there are still ways on how you could enjoy your nature trips without risking your health.
If you are ready to know how, then keep reading this as I will be listing down the important reminders you need to know before going on a nature adventure.
- You can go outside for a run, walk, bike, or hike BUT always keep in mind to bring your alcohol and facemask/ face shield with you.
- Nature adventure does not necessarily mean that you have to go to distant places. You can explore your neighborhood or anywhere nearby. Just think of a place other than your room that you think will bring you a better feeling of relaxation.
- Avoid crowded places. In as much as possible, be wary of practicing the set protocols. Always keep your distance and don’t cling around with others.
- Do not go to places with high rates of COVID- positives. Of course, this is one of the most important reminders
Yet, in the end, wherever you are, you can still have a nudge of nature. Just always have an awareness of your surroundings and keep in mind to follow first the safety protocols administered in your place.
