Things I Am Thankful For: The 4 Seasons
Everyone talks about the weather but no one can do a thing about it unless they move to a different area and then it starts again. When I worked in manufacturing, I experienced the weather at all times of the year across the country. It allowed ne to appreciate December in Texas; July in Florida, September in Indiana and May in Arizona.
Regardless of where I was and when, I did know that when I got back to New England, regardless of the month, or weather I was leaving I would be going back to the weather Norman Rockwell painted at the appropriate month.
Even though I have come tp areciate the seasons in a ch differentwas as I did as a child, it is still knowing that when the Dec-Mar months are here, so will the wind, snow and cold.
With Spring in April, the sounds come alive and one can almost hear the grass stretching and trying to grow.
Summer carries the heat, but also the longer days and the lush foliage.
With the beginning of September we already know that the colors will soon be upon us as the days get shorter and the cycle comes to an end.
With the accumulation of years and the flecibility of the business I find that stealing a few weeks to travel to warmer climates in February allows greater tolerance of the cold.
My tolerance of the extremes may not be as strong as it once was, but the appreciation of the beauty makes up for the inconveiences.
This is a post for the November Thankful Challenge hosted by Debe Maxwell.
