One of my favorite holidays is Thanksgiving. It is a time to slow down, look around, and see all the wonderful things around us to be thankful for - whether that's everyday things like running around Town Lake or some of the year's accomplishments (this will be a record setting year for me business wise) or special moments (like coaching my kids teams).
One of the things I'm most thankful for this year is time with family. A huge silver lining of the pandemic was getting to see my kiddos more and make some lasting memories. As the world has *thankfully* started to open back up, I find myself cherishing those moments with family maybe even more than pre-pandemic.
We snuck in a quick road trip before the big holiday tomorrow, and relaxed at a quiet lake house outside of Austin. My mother, Dorie Dillard, also jumped in the car and took her second road trip of the year with us (albeit not as long as the drive to The 30A this Summer), and my wife and I are so thankful the kids get quality time with her. There was a lot of fishing, games played and we took in some beautiful sunsets.
Today, I am fortunate in that I have a community of clients and past clients to be thankful for. Every deal is unique and I learn something new all the time. So for each of my clients, new and returning, I am thankful for everything you have taught me.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Cheers,
John
P.S. Thanksgiving in our family is a Designed Devil Egg Eating Day! What traditions do you share?
