No Mac attack for me! (Yet)

By

I had mentioned this earlier in a comment left on another blog, but I have recently moved to using an iMac at work and away from my Windows laptop that I have carried back and forth from home to office for years. My wife, a lifelong Windows user said to me that I have moved to the dark side.

I did this with major trepidation, but I work in an office with 2 other mac users. When problems crop up I know I can get quick help with any problem. Every day so far I have felt like I am relearning how to use a computer. Don't tell my wife, but it has been a fun experience so far.

I am learning that the iMac has many quick ways to do things that took me much longer on the laptop. Also, as soon as I stop carting the laptop around so much, my elbow should stop hurting.

So far, the mac has tested me, but I have had no mac attacks yet that I could not handle. I am in day 2 without even opening my laptop, although it is still here at my side, patiently waiting for my return.

My step-daughter is a graphic designer and for years has touted the advantages of Mac over the rest.  Be patient and you will get there

Hi Peter den Boer my very first computer many years ago was a Mac.  I have had several different models.  However when I started in Real Estate back in 2004 our MLS was not compatible with a Mac so I had to switch over to the real dark side.  I still prefer the Mac.

That is precisely the reason I haven't switched... really don't need the learning curve at this point in time. Windows serves me well... all my devices including my Android phone are synced.

Hello Peter - I know people who swear by their Mac experience while I am also aware that there are those who are swearing about anything computer-related.   Good luck.

I don't know if I could switch to a Mac, I have never been much of a fan and I have gotten quite used to how things work on what I currently have.

When I made the move to the Mac, I kept my old laptop at the ready just in case I needed it. After two weeks I put it away for good. I never had to take it out.

Have fun!

Good morning Peter. My son convinced me to buy an MacBook Air. And the switch has not been without some frustration and yet some exhileration. My laptop is nearby but gathering dust. Enjoy your day.

I always worry that I'll catch any virus on my mac, and my data will be at risk. By the way, I recently noticed that in my browser I automatically opened Bing, although I didn't install it as a default browser. I learned that it could be a virus, and to get rid of bing redirect macos, I found information on the Internet, including simple and step-by-step instructions.
